Meet the Coaches

Coach Susan Foy

     Coach Foy begins her fourth season with the Lady Ratters after having a successful 2021 season, beating the previously held season wins record with 26 matches won.  Prior to Navasota, she coached at both McKinney and Princeton High Schools. This will be her eleventh year to coach high school volleyball.

     Coach Foy attended Little Elm High School where she was a multi-sport athlete, participating in volleyball, basketball and track. She continued her volleyball playing career at Brookhaven College as a middle blocker, where she was the team captain and a member of the 2008 National Championship team.

     She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Historical Studies from The University of Texas at Dallas and her Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University - Commerce. She teaches P.E. at Navasota High School.

     She and her husband Reuben are parents to three children - Leeyah (15), Noah (10), and Oakleigh (4).

Coach Morgan Sewell

      Coach Sewell returns for her second year with the Lady Rattlers.  She is from Uvalde, Texas and previously taught and coached for Uvalde CISD. She graduated from Texas A&M University and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management. She received her teaching certification in EC-12 Special Education and will be teaching math and assisting with volleyball and track at NHS. She has a golden doodle puppy named Reed (after Reed Arena) and loves to spend time doing CrossFit, hunting and working on her family ranch, going on hunting trips with her dad, and spending time on their family boat in the Florida Keys. 

Coach Doug Harrigan

Coach Harrigan returns for his second year at Navasota High School.  He is also the head softball coach to Navasota.  Born and raised in Houston. He a graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Tx with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, minoring in history. He has taught social studies and coached girls athletics for 24 years, with 17 years as a head softball coach. He has also coached volleyball for 20+ years. The past four years he was the girls' athletic coordinator/head softball and assistant volleyball coach in Florence, Texas. Coach Harrigan has also held the head softball coach's position at Salado, Breckenridge, Columbus, and Pflugerville Hendrickson high schools. He and his wife Ava have one daughter Shae, a graduate of Texas Tech and a beautiful grand-daughter. Along with leading the Rattler softball program, he will be assisting with volleyball and teaching social studies.
